The Rotary Clubs of Carroll Creek, Fredericktowne & Southern Frederick County would like to thank our 600+ volunteers putting in more than 8,000 man/woman hours at this year’s Frederick Oktoberfest. 

Oktoberfest does not have any paid employees. Everyone is a volunteer.  Every penny we raise with your help provides the resources to support our community.

For example, our clubs have supported, donated and/or volunteered at; The Religious Coalition, The Mental Health Association, Hope Alive, Interfaith Housing, Boys & Girls Club, Alive@Five, Lincoln Elementary, Middletown High School Mock Interviews, Police Athletic League, Frederick Officer of the Month Program, Tour De Frederick, The Baker Bank Shell, The Community Bridge, Parkway Elementary Homework Club, drilling wells in Kenya, Operation 2nd Chance, Arc of Frederick Co, YMCA, Rotary’s ShelterBox/Disaster Relief to mention a few.

Parking for volunteers is located on the east side of the fairgrounds, enter though gate 6 on Monroe Ave.
Volunteers are asked to show up 15 to 30 minutes prior to their assigned shift to sign in and receive their Volunteer T-Shirt. You can sign in at the Volunteer Check In which will be located in building #8 at the East end of the Grandstand.  The Grandstand is the tallest building which sits in the middle of the Fairgrounds.  If you have problems finding the check in area, please ask anyone wearing an orange, black or yellow volunteer shirt.

Instructions for volunteering for Frederick’s Oktoberfest

The event is held at the E-ventplex at the Frederick Fairgrounds. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned shift. You will need time to park, locate the Volunteer Check In desk, get your T-shirt and get to your assigned area. Don’t forget to allow time for traffic in the area. If you plan to eat prior to your shift allow plenty of time- we expect to be very busy. There will be access to limited food in our Volunteer Support area.

Building #8 is at the East end of the Grandstand, which is the tallest building in the middle of the Fairgrounds. You must wear your volunteer T-shirt and name badge during the time you’re volunteering. By law, you may not drink alcohol while wearing your T-shirt and volunteering so plan accordingly. We will have a private area for you to change your shirt.
